Toyota Yaris received an exemplary 4 star rating from Euro NCAP during its safety evaluation of small cars. Euro NCAP was set up to provide motoring consumers with a realistic and independent assessment of the crash-safety performance of some of Europe’s most popular cars. The organization, which was established in 1997, is now backed by five European governments, the EU Commission, as well as many motoring and consumer organizations within Europe.
Frontal Impact
Impact takes place at 64km/h, car strikes deformable barrier that is offset. Readings taken from dummies are used to assess protection given to front occupants.
Side Impact
Impact takes place at 50km/h. Trolley fitted with a deformable front is towed into the driver's side of the car to simulate a side-on crash. Readings taken from driver dummy are used to assess level of protection for front occupant.
